Course Home

Welcome to the KCVHS demo course. Here, you will find a description of the tools available in a typical course. When you log in to your course, the first thing you’ll see is your Course Home Page. This is the “hub” or starting point for your course. It displays the following:

  • course tools
useful for communicating with your instructor and with other students

  • shows messages relating to your online course which your instructor has posted.
  • what's new
immediately tells you what has happened in the course since the last time you entered it.

  • a brief outline of the course with links to the various sections.

You'll access your course syllabus, course calendar and all other course material from your Course Home Page.

The Announcements area shows messages relating to your online course which your instructor has posted. It is placed prominently at the beginning of the course so that you can easily see any important information relating to the course.

What's New
What’s New immediately tells you what has happened in the course since the last time you entered it. For example, if the instructor had posted new readings this would appear in the box with a link to the area of the course with the new material. With this feature you can always stay abreast of important changes in the course no matter when they occur.

The Course At A Glance section shows a breakdown of the entire online course according to its sections. This acts as a handy reference section for you to see what is in the course before moving into the individual sections themselves.
